A community that was previously reliant on a few government engineering colleges received a high-quality technical education from the MIT Group of Institutions, which led to the revolutionary growth of technical education in Maharashtra. The MIT Group's founder, Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, wished for quality education to be available to all eligible students, regardless of their caste, creed, or religion. The trust known as MAEER’s MIT Pune, or "Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research, Pune," created the MIT Group of Institutions' flagship college, Maharashtra Institute of Technology, in 1983.
At the university's preliminary level, engineering was everything. When it began to offer undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering, management, medicine, pharmacy, design, and other fields, its speciality began to expand. MIT is a pioneer in professional education, providing academic programmes at 5 universities and more than 80 other institutions in India. With more than 4000 academic members and more than 100000 alumni, the group today includes more than 63,000 students.
The MIT Group of Institutions, part of the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering Education and Research (MAEER), has helped thousands of students fulfil their hopes and objectives while also advancing the industrial, economic, and social development of society for more than 25 years. With campuses at Kothrud, Alandi, and Loni-Kalbhor in Pune, as well as Latur, Talegaon, Ambejogai, and Pandharpur, the group has expanded throughout Maharashtra.

Vision & Mission
Vision
A strong conceptual base and limit serve as the institution's vision, whilst the methods or road map to that goal serve as the institution's purpose. As Sant Shri Dnyaneshwara, a 13th-century philosopher, said that "The entire cosmos is a manifestation of pure intellect and consciousness," MIT psychology is profoundly anchored in Indian cultural history. In addition, the MAEER trust agrees with Albert Einstein's statement that "I believe in God, who shows himself in the beautiful harmony of the cosmos, & I think that intelligence is exhibited throughout nature."
To have a beneficial influence on society, MIT Vishwaprayag University plans to construct a research-based, multidisciplinary, holistic collaborative learning environment.
